Join the Labour History Group!
The Labour History Group was launched in July 2002 with a panel discussion in the House of Lords on “Labour’s Second Term: Lessons from History”. In 2003 we held debates on “Labour and the Media” and “Militant: 20 Years On” in 2004 we held meetings on the February 1974 Election and “Memories of John Smith”. Our panellists have included Robin Cook, Margaret Beckett, Joe Haines, David Hill, Kenneth O Morgan, Michael Crick, Baroness Gould, Michael White and many other famous names.

We continue to organise regular discussion meetings in Westminster on all issues relating to the history of the Labour Party. We also publish a journal, Labour History, featuring articles, biographical portraits of Labour figures, reports of meetings, reviews and news of forthcoming events. The first issue was a special edition on Michael Foot to celebrate his 90th birthday, subsequent editions have focused on Harold Wilson legacy and John Smith' s contribution to the Party. If you would like to write for the journal or would like to see a copy please contact John Schwartz at j.schwartz@ippr.org If you would like to help in the organisation of the LHG, contribute to the journal or have ideas for speaker meetings, please do let us know. For more information please contact john@labourhistory.org.

Membership is £10 (£5 unwaged), for this you get three copies of Labour History per year and free entry to all of our speaker events and debates.
